Arumpo Bentonite is a naturally occurring sodium bentonite. It possesses
natural absorbency, water retention and soil binding properties
leading to improved fertility of soils and the prevention of wash-out
of fertilisers.
Many sandy soils suffer low water holding and a tendency to waterproof
when dry. Working in Arumpo Bentonite will improve both of these
problems in applications ranging from agricultural farming to the
home gardener.
Arumpo Bentonite can be used to increase water retention abilities
when transplanting plants, shrubs and Camellias and before laying
turf.
Potting mixes can be treated to improve water retention or 'wettability'
and nutrient holding ability. The product is particularly useful
in hanging basket and indoor potting mixes but mixes used outside
can benefit from better water holding also. Better water holding
means less frequent watering. |
