Dam Sealing
Arumpo Bentonite is successfully employed as a sealant for earthern
dams and structures. This is achieved by admixing the bentonite
to the native soils with farm equipment.
Irrigation dams are an essential feature of Australian agriculture
and it is important that they do not leak of fail. Arumpo Bentonite,
applied as a blanket or in admix with the local clay, is ideally
suited to dam sealing and provides an economical method of creating
high performance dam lining barriers.
The unique sealing properties of Arumpo Bentonite are associated
with its extremely fine natural grain size, swell and liquid limit.
It has a very low permaebility which becomes even more impermeable
under increased head pressure. |
